Demi Lovato wiped all old posts from their Instagram, Page Six reported. According to the outlet, Lovato appears to have gotten rid of their IG feed, with the exception of an artistic selfie showing off their new buzzcut from January 1. Lovato's sweep of their platform comes shortly after they quietly completed a stay in rehab in December, about three years after they survived a near-fatal overdose, per Page Six.
Lovato, who has struggled with drug addiction in the past, hinted at a relapse in December on their Instagram Story when they announced their "California sobriety," meaning alcohol and marijuana use in moderation, no longer worked for them. "I no longer support my 'California sober' ways," they wrote, offering an update on their sobriety moving forward, per Today. "Sober sober is the only way to be."
By deleting their posts, Lovato seems to be hitting reset on their social media presence prior to 2022 amid their recovery journey. Whatever the reason, Lovato has proven they're not afraid to hit pause online when they need to. After defending their controversial manager Scooter Braun online in 2019, Lovato announced a brief hiatus, writing on their IG Story (via Elle), "Taking a break for a while. Be kind." Whatever works for you, Demi!

Under a paparazzi photo posted to Instagram, the troll wrote: "Hey Demi DM me so we can discuss a diet plan for you." She responded: "I actually am choosing not to diet and fall back into unhealthy behaviors at the risk of losing my sanity or mental health but thank you for the offer! Super sweet."
Demi went on to post in an Instagram Story that she'd decided to remove herself from social media as a result of the comment, writing: "Taking a break for a while. Be kind."
Demi Lovato is going all in on their “fresh start.”
The “Melon Cake” singer wiped their entire Instagram clean and is starting fresh with just one photo that shows off their new buzzcut.
The Instagram do-over comes after Page Six exclusively revealed that Lovato, who uses they/them pronouns, quietly completed another rehab stint in December, three years after their near-fatal overdose.
A source told us Lovato returned home from the Utah facility and was “doing well.” It’s unclear when they checked in for treatment, but they did seem to imply they relapsed when telling fans “California sober” was no longer working for their lifestyle.
“I no longer support my ‘California sober’ ways,” the singer, 29, shared via Instagram Stories in early December. “Sober sober is the only way to be.”
Lovato’s “fresh start” has transformed from a dramatic haircut to getting a massive spider tattoo inked by tattoo artist Dr. Woo on their scalp.
“It was Grandmother Spider who taught us many things,” the “Skyscraper” performer wrote in one of their posts unveiling the ink.
“She taught us about pottery and weaving. She taught us about fire and light and dark. She taught us that we are all connected on the web – each one of us having our place in the world.”
They also took to their Instagram Story on Monday to show off a brand-new industrial ear piercing by Daniel Ruiz to complete their edgy transformation.
“Yes @ddlovato has a new piercing,” Ruiz captioned a re-share of Lovato’s video. Деми обновили Инстаграм:

UPDATE, 8/2/2022: Grammy-nominated pop star Demi Lovato is using she/her pronouns again.
After quietly updating her Instagram bio earlier this year to include both they/them and she/her pronouns, the singer opened up in a recent interview with the Sprout podcast about the decision to go by she/her.
"I've actually adopted the pronouns of she/her again with me," Lovato told Sprout.
Lovato originally came out as nonbinary last year and listed their pronouns on social media as they/them.
"When I was faced with the choice of walking into a bathroom and it said 'women' and 'men,' I didn't feel like there was a bathroom for me because I didn't feel necessarily like a woman," she said about that decision. "I didn't feel like a man. I just felt like a human. And that's what they/them is about. For me, it's just about, like, feeling human at your core."
More recently, Lovato says she has been feeling more feminine, which is why she adopted the use of she/her pronouns again.
"I think what's important is, like, nobody's perfect," she continued. "Everyone messes up pronouns at some point, and especially when people are learning, it's just all about respect."
ORIGINAL, 4/29/2022: Demi Lovato has updated their pronouns on social media.
Though it's unclear when exactly the nonbinary pop star made the update, fans started noticing the changes today (Friday, April 29). As seen in the screenshot below, Demi's Instagram bio now lists both they/them and she/her pronouns in the pronoun section.
In May 2021, Lovato publicly came out as nonbinary with a video detailing her self-discovery process and explaining the pronouns they'd use from that point forward. "I feel that this best represents the fluidity I feel in my gender expression and allows me to feel most authentic and true to the person I both know I am and still am discovering," the singer wrote.
A year later, though, it appears that Lovato is comfortable with using she/her pronouns in addition to they/them. In fact, she probably hinted at this in a recent Instagram post that reads, "You can call me they, but I'm still daddy's girl..."
Rumor has it that Lovato has been working on new music for 2022. In January, she shared a post with the caption, "A funeral for my pop music."
Since then, Lovato has been hinting at going back to their pop-rock roots - something that many artists have been doing as of late. All year long, the singer has been sharing pictures of themself rocking edgier outfits that are fit for a rockstar.
Lovato didn't make a big deal out of updating their pronouns, but fans will now know that she is comfortable with she/her pronouns as well. For now, little is known about the singer's new music and when it might be released.
However, it's worth noting that they are one of the main headliners for the Rock in Rio 2022 festival in September, which is a perfect opportunity for her to promote some new music.

There’s a powerful, empowering message on Demi Lovato’s Instagram
Demi Lovato is feeling sexy, empowered, and confident. The singer took to Instagram to share a picture of herself rocking the hell out of a bathing suit, alongside an inspiring update on her life right now.
Lovato posted a snapshot of herself after her jiu jitsu class and explained why the image is so important to her.
“I’m sweaty and not looking this glamorous right now but fuck I feel awesome and posting this feels empowering because I like this pic where I feel sexy and I can also defend myself from anyone that ever tries to attack me,” she wrote.
Lovato added that she can now take on anyone who might try to cause her harm, no matter what their size, shape, or gender is. “I have security but in the moments I’m alone I feel confident (no pun intended) that I can hold my own against an attacker,” she wrote, “and hope everyone finds something they become as passionate about as I feel about jiu jitsu.”
This is so great on two different levels. 1) Feeling like you can protect yourself is a powerful, incredible feeling. 2) Seeing Demi Lovato feeling healthy and happy and whole is just all kinds of wonderful.
The singer hasn’t spoken much about her alleged overdose this past summer but she did take to Twitter in December to thank everyone for their support and love.
“I’m so blessed I get to take this time to be with family, relax, work on my mind, body and soul and come back when I’m ready,” she wrote. “I have my fans to thank for that. I’m so grateful, truly. I love you guys so fucking much thank you.”
These days, it looks like she is training hardcore in jiu jitsu and literally knocking teeth out as she goes (#sorrynotsorry).
Oh yeah, and she also went to Bora Bora and took some truly fire beach pictures (note to self: might need to invest in a cheetah print bathing suit?)
