календарь энни лейбовиц
В понедельник, 30 ноября, в лондонском историческом клубе Roundhouse состоялась презентация фотографий, сделанных американским фотографом Энни Лейбовиц для нового календаря Pirelli на 2016 год, пишет Huffington Post.

“Perhaps clothed women are going to have a moment,” quipped the legendary Fran Lebowitz. The cultural commentator was remarking, in her signature blend of snark and wit, about the 2016 Pirelli calendar, which stars 13 women—12 of which are clothed—photographed by Annie Leibovitz. The idea behind the new calendar was to showcase women of all fields and celebrate them for their power, poise, and accomplishments—rather than their naked forms. Included in the portrait series are Fran Lebowitz, Yoko Ono, Patti Smith, Amy Schumer, Serena Williams, Tavi Gevinson, Ava DuVernay, Yao Chen, Mellody Hobson, Shirin Neshat, Agnes Gund, Kathleen Kennedy, and Natalia Vodianova.
Annie Leibovitz captured each woman in a statuesque black-and-white portrait. Smith is seen mid-motion adjusting her vest; Gevinson gazes out in a moment of reflection; and Gund embraces her granddaughter Sadie Rain Hope-Gund. Look closer and you’ll also see that Vogue makes a special appearance. After photographing Williams for Vogue’s April cover, Leibovitz opted to re-create one of the images of Williams from the back, arms stretched out across a wall, for Pirelli, this time without the Donna Karan dress. The result is Williams in black briefs, her physique on full display. “Serena’s image is really a body study. She has an incredible body,” said Leibovitz at a press conference today. “In fact, if you look at the photograph,” she continued, “on the floor is the photograph of Serena in Vogue.”
The full series of images in the calendar will be seen only by the lucky few on Pirelli’s mailing list, but you can preview six of them here. Wondering who was the one model who went nude? It was Schumer. Leibovitz explained her concept thusly: “It was as if she didn’t get the memo, but if you look at her, that was a true moment; she actually picked up the cup of coffee and started drinking it. That was her coffee, and I said, ‘That’s it!’”

December 2, 2015The Pirelli Calendar—an annual limited edition “art item” released by the Italian tire company—looks a little different this year. Usually filled with photographs of nude or barely clothed models, this year’s edition, shot by V.F. contributing photographer Annie Leibovitz, features 12 studio portraits of women renowned for their work in diverse fields—including comedy, sports, philanthropy, and art. Another notable departure from the Pirelli norm is that Leibovitz is the only woman—aside from husband-and-wife duo Inez and Vinoodh, in 2007—to have photographed the calendar in over 25 years.
Of all the accomplished women featured—Serena Williams; Yao Chen; Patti Smith; Amy Schumer; Yoko Ono; investor Mellody Hobson; Fran Lebowitz; Agnes Gund and her granddaughter; director Ava DuVernay; artist Shirin Neshat; producer Kathleen Kennedy; blogger and actress Tavi Gevinson; model Natalia Vodianova and one of her young children—only Williams and Schumer are shown in their underwear.
In the December photo (perfect for the year’s grand finale), Schumer poses casually in lingerie and heels, holding a coffee cup with a lipstick stain and giving the camera an irreverent look that says, “Um, can I help you?” During a press conference, Leibovitz said, “The idea was that she was the only one who had not got the memo about wearing clothes.” Schumer posted the photo on her Instagram, with the caption “Beautiful, gross, strong, thin, fat, pretty, ugly, sexy, disgusting, flawless, woman. Thank you Annie Leibovitz!”
In a behind-the-scenes video aired at the press conference, Fran Lebowitz (our lady of the month of May and a V.F. contributing editor) quipped, “Perhaps clothed women are going to have a moment.”
Jennifer Zimmerman, the global chief strategy officer for the McGarryBowen advertising agency, told The New York Times: “Between the first credible woman presidential candidate, all the powerful female characters on television from ‘Supergirl’ to ‘Madam Secretary’ to ‘Scandal,’ the pressure for parity in pay, it is impossible to ignore the empowerment of women. Besides, who uses a calendar anymore? It has to stand for something else.”
