Nevertheless, the girls are thriving in many ways such as attending preschool for the first time this year. Maryann says, “They’ve made their very first real friends. It makes us so happy to see them so happy.”Ella and Eve Oakley are four-year old twin sisters who as infants were diagnosed with #retinoblastoma, a rare eye cancer. Their mother Maryann, herself a cancer survivor, quit her job to become their caregiver. ❤️ #StandUpToCancer👏 🚀This is about our lives and our freedom to decide what to do with our bodies. A few favorites: “Positive people are published.” “Approach your clothes with explosive control” “Tom and dick on a rocket ship”. By the end of the shoot, the makeup team would run them with me. 😆In the mornings, I like to drill the vowels and consonant changes for a character so I can forget about it during the day and just play in the scenes. I like to make up phrases that drill the sound changes but that also feel that they embody the feeling of the character.My way in to a character is usually vocal. Over the 4 year period developing and shooting Angelyne, I worked with Liz Himmelstein, then on set with Judi Dickerson (pre-pandemic) and Joy Ellison (post-pandemic). I love love love them.
