Как знак препинания

В русском языке запятая используется на письме: для обособления (выделения):

• определений, если определение находится после определяемого слова, либо имеет добавочное обстоятельственное значение, либо в случаях, когда определяемое слово является именем собственным или личным местоимением,
• обстоятельств, кроме тех случаев, когда обстоятельство является фразеологизмом; также в случаях, когда обстоятельство выражено существительным с предлогом (кроме предлогов невзирая на, несмотря на), запятая ставится факультативно.

Также при использовании:

• причастных и деепричастных оборотов,
• обращений,
• уточнений,
• междометий,
• вводных слов (по некоторым источникам, вводные слова входят в состав обособленных обстоятельств, по другим — нет),

Для разделения:

• между частями сложносочинённого, сложноподчинённого или сложного бессоюзного предложения;

Как десятичный разделитель

В числовой записи, в зависимости от принятого в том или ином языке стандарта, запятой разделяются целая и дробная части либо разряды по три цифры между собой. В частности, в русском языке принято отделение дробной части запятой, а разрядов друг от друга пробелами; в английском языке принято отделение дробной части точкой, а разрядов друг от друга запятыми.

В информатике

В языках программирования запятая используется в основном при перечислении — например, аргументов функций, элементов массива.

Является разделителем в представлении табличных данных в текстовом формате CSV.

В Юникоде символ присутствует с самой первой версии в первом блоке Основная латиница (англ. Basic Latin) под кодом U 002C, совпадающим с кодом в ASCII.

На современных компьютерных клавиатурах запятую можно набрать двумя способами:

Запятая находится в нижнем регистре на клавише Del цифровой клавиатуры, если выбран русский региональный стандарт. Более правильно говорить, что в нижнем регистре на клавише Del цифровой клавиатуры находится десятичный разделитель для текущего регионального стандарта. Для США это будет точка. Запятая находится в верхнем регистре русской раскладки (набрать запятую можно лишь нажав клавишу ⇧ Shift. Существует мнение, что это неправильно, поскольку замедляет скорость набора текста (в русском языке запятая встречается чаще точки, для набора которой нажимать ⇧ Shift не требуется)[1].

• В повести Лии Гераскиной «В стране невыученных уроков» Запятая является одной из подданных Глагола. Она описывается как горбатая старуха. Злится на Витю Перестукина за то, что тот постоянно ставит её не на место. В мультфильме «В стране невыученных уроков» Запятая также является подданной Глагола, но изображена иначе. Она выглядит не как старуха, а как девочка. Кроме того, она не такая злючка, хотя всё равно жалуется на то, что Витя ставит её не на место.

The full list of nominations for the 73rd Emmy Awards, which recognises the best in television, was released today.

The awards ceremony will be held on September 19, 2021 in Los Angeles, California.

McGregor played the title character of Roy Halston Frowick (known commonly just as Halston) in the 2021 miniseries charting the rise to international fame of the American fashion designer in the 1970s.

McGregor is up against some strong opposition for the coveted title of Best Actor.

Olivia Colman, who plays the Queen in The Crown, will be up against Emma Corrin, who won critical acclaim for her portrayal of a young Diana, Princess of Wales, for outstanding lead actress in a drama series.

Josh O’Connor has been nominated in the male equivalent category for his portrayal of the Prince of Wales in The Crown’s fourth season, which covered a tumultuous 1980s for the royal family.

Gillian Anderson played Margaret Thatcher and is up for supporting actress in a drama series alongside Helena Bonham Carter, who portrayed Princess Margaret and Emerald Fennell, who starred as Camilla Parker Bowles.

Tobias Menzies is nominated for playing the Duke of Edinburgh.

All the actors will be replaced for The Crown’s upcoming fifth season, which will place a more recent era under the Netflix glare.

Both The Crown and Bridgerton are up for the prestigious outstanding drama series Emmy, alongside The Boys, The Handmaid’s Tale, This Is Us, Pose, The Mandalorian and Lovecraft Country.

Despite three previous nominations, The Crown has never won the prize.

Kate Winslet is nominated for outstanding lead actress in a limited series or movie for gritty detective drama Mare Of Easttown.

Her fellow nominees include Britons Michaela Coel for I May Destroy You and Cynthia Erivo for Genius: Aretha.

Anya Taylor-Joy is up for The Queen’s Gambit and Elizabeth Olsen for WandaVision.

Ewan Gordon McGregor OBE (/ˈjuːən/ YOO-ən;[1] born 31 March 1971) is a Scottish actor. His accolades include a Golden Globe Award, a Primetime Emmy Award, and the BAFTA Britannia Humanitarian Award. In 2013, he was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to drama and charity.[2]

His first professional role was in 1993, as a leading role in the British Channel 4 series Lipstick on Your Collar.[3] He then achieved international fame with his portrayals of heroin addict Mark Renton in the drama films Trainspotting (1996) and T2 Trainspotting (2017), Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel trilogy (1999–2005), poet Christian in the musical film Moulin Rouge! McGregor has also starred in theatre productions of Guys and Dolls (2005–2007) and Othello (2007–2008). In 2021, he portrayed fashion designer Halston in a Netflix miniseries Halston for which he won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.[4] He reprised his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in the 2022 Disney miniseries of the same name.

McGregor was ranked number 36 on Empire magazine's "The Top 100 Movie Stars of All Time" list in 1997.[5] In a 2004 poll for the BBC, He was named the fourth most influential person in British culture.[6][7] McGregor has been involved in charity work and has served as an ambassador for UNICEF UK since 2004. He became an American citizen in 2016.

Early life

McGregor was born on 31 March 1971 in Perth, Scotland, and was raised in nearby Crieff.[8][9][10][11] His mother, Carol Diane (née Lawson), is a retired teacher at Crieff High School and latterly deputy head teacher at Kingspark School in Dundee.[12][13] His father, James Charles Stewart "Jim" McGregor, is a retired physical education teacher and careers master at the independent Morrison's Academy in Crieff.[14][15][16] He has an older brother, Colin (born 1969), a former Tornado GR4 pilot in the Royal Air Force.[17] His uncle is actor Denis Lawson[3][18] and his aunt by marriage was actress Sheila Gish, which makes him a step-cousin of Gish's actress daughters, Kay Curram and Lou Gish.[19]

McGregor attended Morrison's Academy. After leaving school at the age of 16, he worked as a stagehand at Perth Theatre and studied a foundation course in drama at Kirkcaldy College of Technology,[20][21] before moving to London to study drama at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama when he was 18 years old.[3]

Career

Film and television

Six months prior to his graduation from Guildhall, McGregor began a leading role in Dennis Potter's six-part Channel 4 series Lipstick on Your Collar (1993).[3] Not long afterwards, he starred in the BBC adaptation of Scarlet and Black (also 1993) with a young Rachel Weisz and made his film debut in Bill Forsyth's Being Human (1994).[22] For his role in the thriller Shallow Grave (also 1994), he won an Empire Award.[23] The film was his first collaboration with director Danny Boyle.[3] He had a major role in the 1996 Channel 4 comedy-drama film Brassed Off, written and directed by Mark Herman. His international breakthrough followed with the role of heroin addict Mark Renton in Boyle's Trainspotting (1996), an adaptation of Irvine Welsh's novel of the same name.[3][22]

McGregor played the male romantic lead role in the British film Little Voice (1998). He was cast as the young Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, released between 1999 and 2005.[24] Kenobi was originally played by Sir Alec Guinness in the first Star Wars trilogy.[3] McGregor's uncle, Denis Lawson, had played Wedge Antilles in the original trilogy.[25] While the prequels received mixed reviews, McGregor's performance was well received.[26] McGregor said making the prequels was difficult, as he had to act mostly against green screens and the dialogue was "not exactly Shakespeare". He also stated that the negative reaction to the films had been difficult.[24]

McGregor starred in Moulin Rouge! (2001) as the young poet Christian, who falls in love with the terminally-ill courtesan Satine (Nicole Kidman), for which his performance was widely praised and nabbed McGregor his first Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy nomination. He also appeared in Ridley Scott's war film Black Hawk Down (2001) as John Grimes. He starred alongside Renée Zellweger in Down with Love (2003).[3][27] He also portrayed the younger Edward Bloom in Tim Burton's critically acclaimed film Big Fish (2003) alongside Albert Finney, Jessica Lange, Alison Lohman and Billy Crudup. In the same period, he also received critical acclaim for his portrayal of an amoral drifter mixed up with murder in the drama Young Adam (also 2003), which co-starred Tilda Swinton.[28][29]

McGregor voiced two successful animated features; he played the robot Rodney Copperbottom in Robots, which also featured the voices of Halle Berry and Robin Williams,[30] and he voiced the lead character in Gary Chapman's Valiant (both 2005), alongside Jim Broadbent, John Cleese and Ricky Gervais.[31] Also around this time, McGregor played two roles – one a clone of the other – opposite Scarlett Johansson in Michael Bay's science fiction action thriller film The Island (2005). He also headlined Marc Forster's 2005 film Stay, a psychological thriller co-starring Naomi Watts and Ryan Gosling.[32][33]

He narrated the Fulldome production Astronaut (2006), created for the National Space Centre.[34] Around the same time, he also narrated the STV show JetSet (also 2006), a six-part series following the lives of trainee pilots and navigators at RAF Lossiemouth as they undergo a gruelling six-month course learning to fly the Tornado GR4, the RAF's primary attack aircraft.[35] McGregor starred opposite Colin Farrell in the Woody Allen film Cassandra's Dream (2007),[22][36] and he co-starred with Jim Carrey in I Love You Phillip Morris and appeared in Amelia (both 2009) alongside Hilary Swank. He played "the ghost" – the unnamed main character – in Roman Polanski's political thriller The Ghost Writer (2010). He portrayed Camerlengo Patrick McKenna in Ron Howard's mystery thriller Angels Demons (also 2009), the film adaptation of Dan Brown's novel of the same name and a sequel to Howard's The Da Vinci Code, co-starring Tom Hanks as Robert Landon. In 2011, McGregor starred in the British comedy Salmon Fishing in the Yemen directed by Lasse Hallström and co-starring Emily Blunt and Kristin Scott Thomas, for which he received his second Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Motion Picture Musical or Comedy nomination. At the same year, he was awarded with the SIFF Golden Space Needle Award for Outstanding Achievement in Acting at the 2011 Seattle International Film Festival.[37]

In 2012, he was a member of the Jury for the Main Competition at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.[38] At the San Sebastián International Film Festival, he was awarded the Donostia Lifetime Achievement Award and became the youngest recipient of the award.[39] The same year, he also starred in the disaster drama film The Impossible opposite Naomi Watts and Tom Holland. In 2013, McGregor starred alongside Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts in August: Osage County, which was based on Tracy Letts's Pulitzer Prize-winning play of the same name.[40]

McGregor starred in the action comedy film Mortdecai (2015), alongside Johnny Depp and Paul Bettany. Robbie Collin of The Daily Telegraph felt the film was "psychotically unfunny".[41] He made his directorial debut with American Pastoral (2016), in which he also starred.[42]

In 2017, he reprised his role as Mark Renton in T2 Trainspotting.[43] McGregor played Lumière (originally voiced by Jerry Orbach in the 1991 animated film) in the live-action adaptation of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, directed by Bill Condon, with an ensemble cast featuring Emma Watson and Dan Stevens in leading roles, alongside Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Stanley Tucci, Ian McKellen, and Emma Thompson. Filming began in May 2015 at Shepperton Studios in London, and the movie was released in March 2017.[44] He then starred in FX anthology series in the third season of Fargo (both 2017), which garnered him a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film for his dual performance of Emmit Stussy and Ray Stussy at the 75th Golden Globe Awards.[45] In 2018, McGregor starred as the adult version of the titular character in Christopher Robin, a live-action adaptation of Disney's Winnie the Pooh franchise directed by Marc Forster and starred alongside Hayley Atwell.[46]

In 2019, McGregor starred as the older Danny Torrance in Doctor Sleep, the film adaptation of Stephen King's novel of the same name.[47] In 2020, he appeared opposite Margot Robbie in Warner Bros.' DC Comics film Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), directed by Cathy Yan, as the main villain Roman Sionis / Black Mask.[48]

On 23 August 2019, Lucasfilm announced that McGregor would reprise his role as Obi-Wan Kenobi in a new Star Wars television series, due for release on Disney in 2022.[49]

In 2021, McGregor created a charismatic portrait of the American fashion designer Halston in the eponymously titled miniseries for Netflix, based on the candid biography Simply Halston by journalist Steven Gaines. McGregor was also billed as executive producer, jointly with Ryan Murphy.[50]

Theatre

From November 1998 to March 1999, McGregor starred as Malcolm Scrawdyke in a revival of David Halliwell's Little Malcolm and His Struggles Against the Eunuchs, directed by his uncle, Denis Lawson. The production was first staged at the Hampstead Theatre before transferring to the Comedy Theatre in London's West End.[51] In November 2001, McGregor made a cameo appearance in The Play What I Wrote.[52]

From June 2005 to April 2007, McGregor starred alongside Jane Krakowski, Douglas Hodge and Jenna Russell in the Donmar Warehouse revival of Guys and Dolls after it transferred to the Piccadilly Theatre in London.[53] He played the leading role of Sky Masterson. McGregor received the LastMinute.com award for Best Actor for his performance in 2005,[54] and he was nominated for a Laurence Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical in 2007.[55]

From December 2007 to February 2008, McGregor starred as Iago in Othello at the Donmar Warehouse alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor as Othello and Kelly Reilly as Desdemona.[56][57] He reprised the role on BBC Radio 3 in May 2008.[56]

Motorcycling

A motorcyclist since his youth, McGregor undertook a marathon international motorbike trip with his best friend Charley Boorman and cameraman Claudio von Planta in 2004. From mid-April to the end of July, they travelled from London to New York via central Europe, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Mongolia, Russia, Canada and the United States on BMW R1150GS Adventure motorbikes, for a cumulative distance of 22,345 miles (35,960 km).[58] The trip included visits to several UNICEF programs along the route, and formed the basis of a television series and a best-selling book, both called Long Way Round.[59]

The Long Way Round team reunited in 2007 for another motorcycle trip from John o' Groats in Scotland to Cape Town in South Africa.[59] The journey, entitled Long Way Down, lasted from 12 May until 5 August 2007.[59] McGregor's brother Colin joined the motorcycle team during the early stages of the Long Way Down journey,[59] and his father Jim also rode on sections of both Long Way Round and Long Way Down.[60][61]

McGregor appeared in a two-part BBC documentary in April 2012 entitled Ewan McGregor: Cold Chain Mission in which he travels by motorbike, boat, plane and foot to deliver vaccines to children in remote parts of India, Nepal and the Republic of Congo. The trip was part of his work as a UNICEF Ambassador.

In a June 2015 interview, McGregor indicated that a long discussed South American trip with Boorman was still in the planning stages, but he expected that an excursion through the Baja California Peninsula would take place first.[62]

On 14 December 2019, McGregor and Boorman finished a three-month journey on electric Harley-Davidson LiveWire motorcycles from Patagonia, Argentina, to California, United States, for a docuseries.[63] The 10-episode series, Long Way Up, debuted on Apple TV on 18 September 2020.[64][65]

Personal life

McGregor married Eve Mavrakis, a French-Greek Jewish production designer whom he met on the set of Kavanagh QC, in 1995.[8][66][67][68][69][3] Together they have four daughters, two of them adopted, one a street child from Mongolia he met while travelling in Long Way Round.[8][70][71][72] With his children raised in Mavrakis's Jewish faith, McGregor said in 2016, "My involvement in religion has more to do with the Jewish faith now and not the Christian faith, which I was very vaguely brought up in."[73] McGregor has a heart and dagger tattoo of the names of Mavrakis and their daughters on his right arm.[27][74] On 19 January 2018, having been separated since May 2017, McGregor filed for divorce from Mavrakis, citing irreconcilable differences;[75][76] the divorce was finalised on 13 August 2020.[77]

In May 2017, McGregor began a relationship with American actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead, whom he met on the set of Fargo.[78] Their son, Laurie, was born in June 2021.[79][80] McGregor and Winstead married in April 2022.[81]

McGregor divides his time between Los Angeles, California,[82] and St John's Wood, London.[83]

McGregor is involved in charity work, including UNICEF UK since 2004 and GO Campaign. During the Long Way Round journey in 2004, McGregor and his travelling companions saw some of UNICEF's work in Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Mongolia,[59] and during the Long Way Down trip in 2007, he and Charley Boorman did some work for UNICEF in Africa. McGregor hosted the annual Hollywood gala for the GO Campaign in 2009 and 2010. He has worked with the Children's Hospice Association Scotland, as featured in Long Way Down. In 2012, he travelled with UNICEF immunization workers to remote parts of India, Nepal and the Republic of Congo for a BBC2 documentary entitled Ewan McGregor: Cold Chain Mission.[84] In June 2015, McGregor read Hans Christian Andersen's "The Little Match Girl" for the children's fairy tales app GivingTales in aid of UNICEF, together with other prominent figures such as Sir Roger Moore, Stephen Fry, Dame Joan Collins, Joanna Lumley, and Sir Michael Caine.[85]

In 2007, on an episode of Parkinson, McGregor said he had been a teetotaller for the last seven years. He also mentioned this in an interview with the Irish Independent in 2008, stating that he would often turn up to sets drunk or hungover in the late 1990s, and that he decided to stop altogether to avoid spiralling down further.[86]

In 2008 McGregor had a cancerous mole removed from below his right eye.[87]

In September 2020, after travelling through Chile for the documentary Long Way Up, he revealed he is of Chilean descent due to the fact that his great-grandfather, John (or Juan) McIndoe, was born in Chile to a Scottish father who worked with the American engineers in the construction of the railways at the end of the 19th century and a German mother. Later, John went to Glasgow and worked as a wine importer and diplomat.[88][89]

Politics

McGregor was an outspoken critic of Brexit. Although opposed to Scottish independence from the United Kingdom in the 2014 Scottish referendum, he later declared during an interview that he would have voted for Scotland to leave the United Kingdom if he had been able to cast his vote the day after the United Kingdom left the European Union.[90] In 2020 he voiced his support for Scottish independence, saying that "it's time".[91][92][93]

McGregor became a naturalised US citizen after 2016 so he would be able to vote in the 2020 US presidential election.[94] During his journey on Long Way Up, he travelled entirely on his US passport.[95]

In 2010, McGregor was appointed by the French government as a Chevalier de l'Ordre des Arts et Lettres (Knight of the Order of the Arts and Letters).[96][97] McGregor was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2013 New Year Honours for services to drama and charity.[8][98][99]

Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney has gotten a release date for May 25th. New interview view Forbes:

17 years since he last played the wise Jedi Master up on the big screen, actor Ewan McGregor will soon breathe new life into his beloved Star Wars character in the highly-anticipated Obi-Wan Kenobi series that just announced it will premiere May 25 on Disney .

I spoke exclusively with McGregor, 50, at Forbes while promoting his new Expedia Super Bowl ad airing this Sunday. When I asked him what he could share right now about his feelings playing Obi-Wan and what it was like suiting back up in his iconic robe once again, he says, “Oh my gosh, well I loved playing him again. I mean it’s quite interesting, after the experience of making the first three films and living through sort of their reception in the world, which wasn’t always glowing, I have to say. And then now, meeting the generation who we made those films for, the children then – and now, people in their late teens or early twenties, those people who were kids who we made those films for, they loved them. To them, they’re their Star Wars films, you know? For us, it was the original films of the ‘70s, but for them, it was our films were their Star Wars. So to step back into his shoes again now and do a series, a whole series about Obi-Wan Kenobi for those fans, it just makes me really happy.”

McGregor was first seen as Obi-Wan Kenobi in Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999), followed by Episode II: Attack of the Clones (2002) and lastly in Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (2005). The storyline will continue after Episode III in the form of six brand new episodes on Disney .

When speaking about the filming process of this new series, McGregor says, “It was a great experience. Deborah Chow directed all the episodes and she’s really good. She directed a couple [episodes] of The Mandalorian and she’s a really great director. She really knows the Star Wars world, inside out, far more than I do (laughs). We just had a great time. I think it’s no secret that Hayden Christensen comes back and we got to play scenes together again as Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker and it was just fantastic to work with him again. I’m not going to give away anything else about the storyline, only I think it’s really going to satisfy Star Wars fans. I always felt there was a story between Episode III where I finished playing Obi-Wan in the movies and Episode IV where Alec Guinness is Obi-Wan Kenobi. The [Obi-Wan Kenobi series] writers and Deb and I and everyone, I think we crafted or they crafted a very fine storyline. I think people are going to like it.”

In reality, McGregor may not be traveling off to a galaxy far, far away, but he is making exploration a priority in his life today. Most recently, he has teamed up with Expedia to encourage the world to focus their time and money on experiences, rather than on stuff.

McGregor tells me, “I don’t find myself guilty of needing the latest iPhone or needing the latest television. I’ve never really been like that. I love traveling and my hobbies tend to revolve around things that can take me places. I really daydream about trips and I’ve been lucky to ride [my motorcycle] all around the world with my friend Charlie and make documentaries of those trips to inspire other people to maybe do the same thing.”

He goes on to tell me that his mentality with work and business changed when his Netflix limited series Halston (a role in which he won an Emmy for just last year) shutdown in the middle of production in March 2020 when the Covid-19 lockdowns began. With production not starting up again until September 2020, McGregor says that gave him an unusual amount of quality time with his family at home, something that has changed his perspective on where he chooses to dedicate his time most in this current chapter of his life.

“I was lucky to shoot the Star Wars series here in LA, where I live, and so I was able to go home every night and home every weekend. A huge portion of my life has been spent away – away from my family, working in lots of interesting places but also I’ve often spent my weekends sitting in a hotel room on my own. It was a revelation to be off during that time and now me and my family can plan exciting trips once things properly open up again. Spending more time at home and more time doing the things that I love. That’s why I love this [Expedia] commercial at the end. We’ll look back and regret the places we didn’t go or the experiences we didn’t have.”

With McGregor’s newfound outlook on life, he has even found a way to mix family with filmmaking. He goes on to tell me that he just shot a movie that one of his daughters Clara starred in, wrote, and produced. The project allowed McGregor and her to play father and daughter on-screen together, something he recalls as an amazing experience.

With more promising performances on the horizon for McGregor and an elaborate list of past projects admired by moviegoers, I wrapped up our conversation by asking him what thoughts go through his head most these days when he reflects on his decades of making memorable films.

“Just how lucky I’ve been,” McGregor reveals. “I really have been involved in some lovely projects and there’s sort of wonder to it. I like films like Big Fish and Moulin Rouge – they’re sort of dreamers films, you know? They’re big, proper movies that tell great stories and with really great people. To get to play for a living, I count my lucky stars every day – I love it! I’m so happy with all of the work I’ve been able to do. There’s no favorites for me. They’re all stepping stones, they’re all important, they all taught me one thing or another.”
